Since the time of Independence, when India was declared as a democratic republic sovereign state, the politics of India has been far from smooth. With democracy, non-party social movements and Right to Information giving enormous power to the public, the elected relying on vote banks of Dalits, women and the poor, Indian politics has been widely discussed in homes set in the remotest corners of the country.
